” GoNoodle provides creative videos to help students focus, get energized, and even practice academics while having fun. Have you ever wondered about more ways to tie in GoNoodle with academic standards? Here is how I used a lot of noodles to implement a GoNoodle day in my K-2 classroom setting to teach across all content areas with a fun day of hands on learning.” – Kimberly H., GoNoodle Ambassador
First, collect noodles! (The dollar store carries them or just have each student bring in one!) Cut the noodles into different sized pieces and let the fun begin! (I used an electric knife for easy cutting).
Reading – Have students grab noodles with the beginning sound and the word part to make a rhyming word.
Spelling – Students will practice blending beginning, middle, and ending sounds to form words!
Make sure you do some GoNoodle Dance movements in between activities to keep your students engaged!
Math – Students can practice fluently making combinations of 10 (or any number you choose!) by matching noodle parts!
STEM – Students will use noodles (and Legos or whatever you have) to create a marble run!
Sensory Experience – If you are really brave, kick up the fun by using food coloring and spaghetti noodles for an unforgettable experience! Students can then work together to write a silly song about the sticky noodles.
GoNoodle has really inspired my classroom in so many ways. Making a day of it seemed like a must do! I hope you are inspired to make a special GoNoodle day in your classroom too!
